On Monday 3 and Tuesday 4 July, Walton High held a Post 16 Induction Event to welcome our prospective Year 12 students. Induction offers the chance for internal and external students to experience what their classes will be like next year, as well as having a taste of the Post 16 experience.
17 June 2017 saw our biggest concert to date with the most performers we’ve ever had on stage together with 6 drum kits, 6 keyboards, 6 guitars and 5 Vocal mics.
The Music School continues to grow and the quality of all performances was superb. The School continues to celebrate success across Pianomate, Junior Play for Keeps, Play for Keeps, Drum, Guitar and Vocal encounters.
Our Vocal encounters performed numbers from ‘Man in the Mirror’ to ‘Feeling Good’ together with some magical solos.
This week Performing Arts students were lucky enough to receive an excellent talk and guidance from Katie Read, a former student from Walton High who is now studying BA (Hons) Acting at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts. (LIPA)
Katie delivered her talk at both the Brooklands and Walnut Tree campus to a range of students across all year groups allowing them to develop their understanding of the many opportunities and range of courses available at LIPA. Students also received top advice regarding audition dos and don’ts and guidance for selecting audition material.
After a record number of auditions this year the voting has closed and the finalists have been announced. Make sure you grab your tickets to the final on 13 July as soon as you can to see our 2017 final vocalists (Elisa Yeboah, Sabrina Amani, Shirleen Naibala, Yurara Ohno, Hannah Gray and Shanice Ndymanya), dancers (TJ Moyo and Jessica Gill), Majorettes (Louise Osborne and Juli Watson), Pianist (Aaron Byrne) and Rock Band 'Three Minute Warning' (Charles Porter, Sean Baird, Isaac Trendall and Connor Holly).
