On Thursday 1st December, Year 12 Media students took a trip to London to develop their photography skills. Students managed to capture real life situations, as well as famous landmarks such as Westminster Abbey and Big Ben. Students visited different areas of London such as Camden Town, Covent Garden and Westminster/Embankment to capture the various sights the capital had to offer.
It was an excellent experience as after the trip the whole class concluded that they felt more confident when using the cameras, techniques such as changing the ISO or the shutter speed. Students enjoyed having a creative canvas for them to work upon. It also enabled students to learn how to use photo editing software to its highest capability, which will be useful later in their media course.
The trip got a positive response from all students who attended; they also said they are interested in future photography trips. They found the trip to be a great chance to get to know the school’s DSLR camera to capture the beauty of London.
