Dear Parents,

Wednesday 24 May is the Year 9 Parents’ Consultation at Walnut Tree and Year 8 Parents’ Consultation at Brooklands.

As there will be GCSE exams in the Sports Hall until 3.15 pm, appointments for the consultation will begin at 3.45pm.  This also means that students will NOT finish school early on that Wednesday but will stay in school and  go to lessons.  Session 5 on that day will be 80 minutes long and will be the lesson timetabled for Week A, Monday Session 2.  Year 11 students will be on study leave and so are not affected by this change.

Students will finish school at the normal Wednesday time of 3pm.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at both Rock Challenge at the Milton Keynes Theatre and Spring @TheVenue: Goes to the Movies at the end of last term.

Once again we are so proud of the number of students who participate in these performances and are always delighted to see the confidence, enthusiasm and talent of our young people.

At Rock Challenge students and staff were inspired by a number of the entries and how every school explored Dance and Performance in a variety of ways.   The support and camaraderie between the competing schools really was excellent and embodied the spirit of the Be Your Best Foundation.  We are excited to start preparing next year’s entry.  Students were thrilled to win three awards: these were for  Concept;  Entertainment;   and Costuming Character and once again would like to congratulate everyone involved.

We finished the term with Spring@TheVenue where musical numbers from movies was the theme of the evening. The audience were treated to numbers including Avatar, Jurassic Park, West Side Story and Legally Blonde.  The students really do enjoy performing to friends, family and staff and we thank you for your continued support.

Coming up:

Look out for our next performance at the Venue;  Wednesday 26 April – MKET Performs Disney.   Young people who embrace the performing arts from Kents Hill Infant School; New Chapter Primary School; Heronsgate School and our own Walton High students will all come together in our third MKET Trust event– it promises to be a magical evening.
