On Monday 3 and Tuesday 4 July, Walton High held a Post 16 Induction Event to welcome our prospective Year 12 students. Induction offers the chance for internal and external students to experience what their classes will be like next year, as well as having a taste of the Post 16 experience.
The week began with an assembly from Mrs Branton. She outlined what is expected of students in Post 16 and the roles of the Post 16 team, who will be around to help them achieve in the coming school year. To give an account of how they managed the step up from GCSE, the assembly also included some excellent student speakers from the current Year 12 cohort, Ellie Renson, Oliver Chapman, Samuel Heritage, Alexander Baggaley and Kelvin Danso.
Fun lunch and break time activities included ‘Guess the number of sweets in the Jar’, and Tuesday saw the Post 16 Prefects hosted a pop-up summer fair at lunch time, with stands such as ‘Tin Can Alley’, ‘Sponge the Teacher’, ‘Lob a Choc’ and a Bake Sale. The stalls altogether raised £97.00 for The UK Sepsis Trust.
