On the 16th November, Tom King and Nathaniel Williams participated in a schools debating competition organised by the MP for Milton Keynes South, Iain Stewart. It was the first time Walton High had been represented in the competition in which successful teams have the opportunity to debate in the actual House of Commons should they reach the final.

Both Tom and Nathaniel spent a number of weeks preparing for the debate which was based on the motion ‘this House believes British troops should be withdrawn from Afghanistan by 2014’. With the help of Lizzy Beale, who has taken part in the judging of the competition over the last two years in her role as a Youth MP, the boys prepared a strong defence in favour of the motion.

MK Dons' fixture with Coventry City on Saturday 29th December has been designated as Walton High’s Big Day and pupils, staff and their respective families and the surrounding primary schools can get discounted tickets for the match up until Friday December 28th at 5pm using the code 'WS29'.

As the MK Dons SET has been chosen as the Mayor's charity for the season, MK Dons have teamed up with the secondary schools in Milton Keynes and their surrounding cluster primary schools to offer each area its own special Big Day out here at stadiummk.
The designated feeder primary schools for Walton High's Big Day are Bow Brickhill, Heronsgate, Heronshaw, Kents Hill, St. Mary's Wavendon and Wavendon Gate. Book tickets directly through MK Dons Box Office on 01908 622900 or by visiting the stadium or thecentre:mk.
MK Dons have also run a number of competitions in Walton High and the feeder primaries to provide students with a unique opportunity to play their part in their Big Day.

  • 1st and 2nd places at MK Schools Cross Country.
  • Fee Teng Liew is YR9 Girls MK Schools Badminton Champion.
  • YR9 Girls runner’s up at MK Schools Badminton tournament.
  • U13 Girls Football team reached the fourth round of the English Schools FA National Cup. This is further than any of our other school football teams have previously reached.
  • U18 Boys reached the semi-finals of the Football County Cup.
  • YR8 Girls were runners up at the U13 Girls N-Power Girls 6 a-side football tournament.
  • YR11 Boys reached the semi-finals of the Football County Cup.
