Reading

At Walton High, we firmly believe that every child can read and enjoy books of all types, and that reading unlocks your potential for greater success both in school and beyond. 

Books of all types are welcomed to be read. Whether it is a novel, collection of poems, or non-fiction book, English teachers will be praising students who are able to show that they are engaging in reading. We have a wonderful library, full of hundreds of modern texts waiting to be read and borrowed.

We are also pleased to introduce Sparx Reader, an engaging online platform designed to encourage your child’s reading for pleasure and to support their understanding of set texts.
