Students from both campuses were selected to participate in The Young Engineers final day.  The event was organized by Network Rail at the Quadrant, Milton Keynes, where they were competing against other local schools.

Students were given a presentation on how the railway network is run and the challenges on increasing efficiency and capacity of the system. They were then given a tour of the impressive building and working environment.

The final challenge was a programming task, to design a working signaling system. All students did themselves proud with the team from Brooklands taking an early lead in being the first to program warning signals to flash. The team from Walnut Tree were first to complete the challenge by programming working motion sensors and were awarded overall winners for their cooperation, team work and successful outcome.

Congratulations to all the students involved for their enthusiasm and achievement.
