Year 11 students at Walton High are once again celebrating excellent results in their GCSEs.

After a school year that ended abruptly with lockdown in March, Year 11 students adapted quickly to home learning with excellent levels of engagement.  They then had to deal with considerable confusion and mixed messages from both the DfE and Ofqual regarding their results (which for students studying BTec or CTec courses continues) but they have handled this with resilience and maturity.  It is therefore fitting that we celebrate their achievements and hard work as they look to the future.

IMG 5286Congratulations to Ellie McManus (Walnut Tree) with her ten Grade 9 results and to Addam Hyde (Brooklands) with his nine Grade 9s, one Grade 8.  Both students also studied BTEC courses and we are confident that they will also do exceptionally well in these once the results are eventually published.

Other students achieving top grades are Kiera Canavan (8 grade 9s, 2 grade 8s); Abida Talib (8 grade 9s, 2 grade 8s and a grade 7); Abigail Rumbsy (8 grade 9s, 1 grade 8 and 2 grade 7s); Rosie Hailes (6 grade 9s, 5 grade 8s and a 7) and Hugo Garrido Arevalo (6 grade 9s, 3 grade 8s, 1 grade 7).  All of whom will be continuing their studies with us so we look forward to celebrating their achievements again in two years’ time!

Walton High is proud to be a school that provides diverse and highly personalised academic, technical and vocational opportunities to students to support their chosen career ambitions.  We are always delighted to celebrate the success of our students, as it is a testament to their immense commitment, talent and resilience.  These results also reflect the expertise and dedication of the staff here at Walton High.

Students, along with their parents and teachers, should feel delighted with their achievements.  We are very pleased that the majority of students will be continuing their studies at Walton High’s highly successful Post-16 Centre but also wish those who are moving onto pastures new every success.
